Note that you can also install the SR2330 in an OCS-only network. However, in this case, you
must also install an external Mediation Server, as the SR2330 does not support the Mediation
Server module.
The following figure shows a sample network topology. In this scenario, the OCS is located at
the main office and the SR4134 is located at the branch office.
Figure 6: OCS and SR4134 interoperation
The SR4134 provides connections to external PSTN trunks and analog POTS phones. The
OCS provides the necessary call routing for the branch analog phones, OC phones, and OC
clients. For calls that pass between the OCS network and the PSTN, the Mediation Server
provides the necessary transcoding to allow communication between the PSTN and the OCS
network.
In an OCS-only solution, the
sip-ua sip-server
command must point to the IP address
of the Mediation Server.

OCS-only call flows
The following figure shows the signaling and media flows within a network where the SR4134
equipped with the Mediation Server module is integrated with an OCS server in the Enterprise
Voice infrastructure. The figure shows the call flow between two OC clients at the branch. In
this case, the OCS server routes the call back to the branch, and the media flows through the
SR4134 Ethernet connections.
