Chapter 7: Configuring the AG2330 for OCS
deployment
The branch Microsoft Mediation Server must be configured to communicate with the Microsoft Office
Communications Server 2007 on one side and the Avaya AG2330 on the other side. For detailed
configuration and overview information for the Mediation Server and the OCS, see
Microsoft Office
Communications Server 2007 Enterprise Voice Planning and Deployment Guide
. In a deployment with
both Avaya CS 1000 and OCS, the Mediation Server PSTN Gateway parameter must be configured as
the IP address of the CS 1000 Node IP. With an OCS only deployment, the AG2330 bound interface
address that was specified using the
voice service voip sip bind all ipv4:x.x.x.x
command must be used.
AG2330 configuration example with OCS only
The following figure shows a typical deployment of an OCS-only scenario. Here, OCS clients
running in the remote branch office register themselves with the OCS server at the main office.
When the OCS clients call a PSTN number, the OCS server at the main office forwards the
call based on its routing policies to the Mediation Server at the branch office. The Mediation
Server then forwards the call to the AG2330 Media gateway, which in turn connects the call
to the PSTN.
