In the TCP/IP Properties box, click the
IP Address
tab.

Click the radio button to
Specify an IP address
, and enter the following:
•
IP address:

92.11.13.5
•
Subnet mask:
255.255.255.252
NOTE:
Record any IP addresses, DNS settings, or WINS entries that you change. You may need
to restore them later to connect to another network.

Disable DNS service as follows:
•
Windows 95, 98, and Me: Click the
DNS Configuration
tab. Verify that the
Disable
DNS
radio button is selected.
•
Windows NT: Click the
DNS
tab.
•
If any IP addresses appear under DNS Service Search Order, make a note of them
in case you need to restore them later.
•
Select each IP address in turn and click the
Remove
button.

Disable WINS Resolution as follows:
•
Windows 95, 98, and Me: Click the
WINS Configuration
tab. Verify that the
Disable
WINS Resolution
radio button is selected.
•
Windows NT: Click the
WINS Address
tab.
•
If any IP addresses appear for the Primary and Secondary WINS servers, make a
note of them in case you need to restore them later.
•
Clear each server entry.
•
Clear the checkbox for
Enable DNS for WINS Resolution
.

Click OK twice to accept the address information and close the Network dialog box.

Reboot the system if directed to do so.
Disable/bypass proxy servers in browser
If you are connecting a laptop directly to the Services Ethernet interface on the S8300 faceplate, you must
either disable or bypass proxy servers as described below.
NOTE:
The Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser is recommended. If you use IE, it must be
version 5.5 or higher. You can use Netscape, but some features of the web interface may
not work properly. If you use Netscape, it must be version 6.2 or higher.
To check or change proxy settings:

Open your Internet browser.

Verify that you have a direct connection with no proxies as follows:
For Internet Explorer

Select
Tools > Internet Options
.

Click the
Connections
tab.

Click the
LAN Settings
button.
