Do not
use the router
adapter
nor
the Ethernet cable to connect to the TGM550. Additionally,
do not
use the TGM550 adapter
nor
its rollover cable to connect to the router. If you use
the wrong cable or adapter, you may damage the console port. As a result, it is
strongly recommended that you use a permanent marker to label the cables and
adapters as soon as you remove them from the packaging.
2. Label the DB-9 adapter and the flat rollover cable for the TGM550 to say “TGM550”. Label
the DB-9 adapter and Ethernet cable for the router console to say “router.”
3. Verify that the equipment matches the packing list.
4. Verify that the equipment matches the list of equipment from the project manager.
Verifying the router has the power for the TIMs and PIMs
The J-series routers have limits on the power they can expend on TIMs and PIMs and still
maintain normal operation. Verify that the project manager, sales representative, or sales
engineer has ordered the appropriate quantity and types of TIM and PIM modules for the router
you are installing.

Turning off the J-series router
1. Press and release the power button to turn off the router (

The router begins gracefully shutting down the operating system and then powers itself off.
