Logging in to the Juniper Series Router
1. At the login prompt, type
root
and press
Enter
.
2. At the password prompt, enter the password. The password should be set by the
Disk-on-Key configuration file. Your project manager must give you this password.
You are now logged in at the UNIX command line (

).

CAUTION:
If, for some reason, a password was not set with the Disk on Key, you can login
without a password. Just press
Enter
. However, you must set a new password
before
you commit the configuration. Check with your Project Manager to get the
password.
If you need to reset the password, go to password recovery procedure at
.
You can also reset the password by pressing the reset configuration button for
twelve seconds. However, this method also overwrites any configuration data you
may have entered with default configuration data.

If the configuration fails during the installation or you get locked out, you can
recover the password. See
