SIP Deskphones Release 6.4 Installation and Maintenance Guide
Hotline
Use this feature to dial a number just by going off-hook. To
use this feature, the hotline feature must be configured in
the settings file.

Avaya Aura® Communication Manager 6.2
and Avaya Aura® Session Manager 6.2 are
the minimum requirements to support.
Instant Messaging
Using the Instant Message (IM) feature, a user can send
and receive IMs from other users. This feature is available
only for the touch-based deskphone models - 9621G and
9641G.
Key Repeat Delay
Use this feature to set the time interval of a key to be
pressed to have a repetitive action.
Large text support
The deskphone can display the English fonts in a bigger
size font for better readability.
Mute alert
Use this feature to display alerts when the deskphone is in
mute and the user starts speaking. The user can choose
the alert type from audio, visual, or both.
Per line ring control
Using this feature, a user can assign a specific ring tone to
the contacts the user has stored in the deskphone.
Presence
The deskphone can track the presence information of the
contacts the user has stored in PPM and display the
availability information of those contacts on the deskphone
interface.
SSH support
SIP release 6.2 supports Secure Shell (SSH) protocol to
enable the deskphones for secure data communication,
remote shell services or command execution via a secure
channel.
Team Button
The Team Button feature allows a user to keep track of
other member’s presence, or enables the user to receive a
call in behalf of the other (monitored) user. The team button
also acts as a speed dial.
Ten emergency numbers
With SIP release 6.2, the deskphones support up to 10
emergency numbers. The users can dial the emergency
numbers even while the deskphone is locked.
URI dialing

The users can enter the SIP URI of a contact using the edit
dialing mode and make a call.
