Installing the server in a stackable desktop configuration
If the server is to be installed in a stackable desktop configuration with the UPS and an EBM, you must install
four rubber spacers on the bottom on the server.
Caution!
If you are installing more than one Message Networking system, do not stack more than two on top of
each other. Create multiple stacks if needed. If you have a UPS
and
an EBM, stack only one server on top of
them. The EBM is supported for the S3400-H only.
To install the servers in a stackable desktop configuration:
1. Gather the rubber spacers shipped with each server.
2. Attach the rubber spacers to the bottom of the server, one at each corner. See
Rubber spacers for
stackable configuration
.
3. Position the UPS or EBM (always the bottom unit if present) in an appropriate location. See
Site
requirements
for details.
4. Place the server on top of the UPS.
5. Continue with
Connecting the power cables
.
