CMS-6000 Media Server Grounding
The CMS-6000 Media Server has a grounding clamp and stud on the power input panel to tie
into the facility and Rack ground systems.
Connecting the CMS-6000 Media Server to Ground is extremely important. After rack-mounting
the CMS-6000 Media Server, ground it using the ground cable that was shipped with your
system, and the chassis ground clamp on the back of the CMS-6000 Media Server.
There are two kinds of ground cable. Either may have shipped with your system.
●
A ground cable with no connector at the CMS-6000 Media Server end of the cable. The
shelf end of the cable is stripped to expose a short length of copper wire.
●
A ground cable with a round crimp connector at the CMS-6000 Media Server end of the
cable.
To ground the CMS-6000 Media Server using stripped wire cable, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the ground cable that was shipped with your system.
2. Strip the cable further, if necessary, to expose approximately 1/2 inch of copper wire on the
shelf end of the cable.
