7.
Set up the PC to communicate with the UPS serially:
S
Open your terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal
®
).
S
Select the appropriate serial connection (such as COM1).
S
Set the serial line to 9600 baud, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit,
and no flow control.

From the Start menu select
Programs
,
UPS
, and then
ERM
Configurator
.
ERM Configurator opens.
9.
Change the baud setting to
9600
by clicking
Port
, setting the baud
rate, and clicking
Apply
.
10.
Click
Connect
to establish communication with the UPS.
The message “Connecting ... UPS Found ... Done” confirms that
the UPS is connected, and the UPS Connection Status indicator
changes from red to green.
11.
To change the number of EBMs associated with the UPS, click
ERM
.
The ERM Options screen opens (see Figure 21).

Select the correct number of EBMs. The number should reflect the
number of EBMs associated with the UPS.
Selecting “0” indicates the presence of only the UPS internal
battery.
