5) Electric De-icing System
a) Inspect the slip ring for excessive wear on the copper rings. The maximum of 1,5 mm
(0.06 inch) deep grooving of the copper rings from the brushes is acceptable.
b) Inspect the cables for damage.
c) Check the cable ties that attach the cables to the spinner bulkhead and to the hub, as
applicable. Use cable ties per MIL3367 if damaged or missing.
d) Check the connection of cables to the slip ring and to the de-icer. Retighten as needed.
e) Inspect all brushes in brush block assembly for excessive wear. Insert approx. 2,5 mm
(0,1 inch) diameter rod into backside hole, as displayed in Figure 6-4, while the brush
protrude 1,6 mm (1/16 inch) from the brush module.
If depth is more than 9 mm (23/64 inch), then replace the brush assembly or replace all
brushes of the brush assembly in accordance with Goodrich manual 30-60-01.
