Left Buttons and Knob
The left-hand buttons and knob on the Envision EXP5000 allow you
to set the navigation configuration and course. The left button
configuration is determined by your aircraft’s autopilot and whether a
radar altimeter is installed. Additionally, for
IntelliFlight
2100
autopilots only, the IAS button becomes unavailable when the
autopilot is controlling the aircraft, as shown in Figure 5. For more
information, see
IntelliFlight 2100 Vertical Modes
, on page 44.
The Nav (Primary Navigation) button is enabled by default (the
enabled button has a green rim). To enable a different left-hand
button, press it. Once enabled, you can continue to press the button
to change the setting.
The state of each navigation button is displayed in the adjacent data
block, as shown in Figure 5. For information about the data blocks,
see
Nav and Bearing Data Blocks—The Nav data block content
varies depending on the source, as follows:
, on page 18.

The Nav button is re-enabled ten seconds after you last push or
rotate the Bearing and Range/View button. Avidyne suggests that you
enable the desired button just before you change the knob.
