6.1
General
The AVL DiTEST Speed 2000 requires no special maintenance.
To ensure that the AVL Dual Sensor always functions properly, clean it from time to time.
6.2
Cleaning the AVL Dual Sensor
The magnet foot must be free of iron splinters and dirt to ensure that the structure-borne signal is
correctly acquired. The air-borne inlets on the top of the AVL Dual Sensor should not be relocated.
Use a mild cleaning agent to clean the sensor. You can also apply a blast of compressed air
horizontally across the upper face of the sensor to remove any dirt from the microphone holes.
To prevent any damage to the microphone, do not use a pointed object to clean the inlets.
Never aim compressed air directly at the upper face of the sensor - doing so can destroy the seal
membrane and, consequently, the microphone.
6.3
Self Test Function
The AVL DiTEST Speed 2000 has a power-on self test function.
Every time that the operating voltage is applied, the hardware components of the evaluation unit
are checked to see whether they are functioning properly,. The test takes two seconds.
−
A constant display of the LED (red) indicates that the power supply is correctly connected and
the "Power-on self-test" has been successfully completed.
−
If a component has a fault this will be indicated by a periodic flashing of the LED (red).
