Exhaust systems expand during operation; avoid
installing components too close to the chassis.
To compensate for exhaust expansion, each rubber hanger
should be pushed toward the front of the vehicle to allow
each section of exhaust to seat into the corresponding tube
section.
With the entire exhaust system aligned, and each clamp
positioned away from the chassis to avoid any rattles, tighten
and check all hardware to complete the installation.
Figure 8
shows where to start and finish.
Torque all AccuSeal clamps to 40 ft/lbs.
Reinstall the chassis brace with the original hardware.
Install the 180Technology® mid section (part TW); use the
supplied 76.2mm (3
-
inch) AccuSeal clamp on the expanded
sections of pipe and orient away from the chassis.
Touring Edition exhaust requires the Mid muffler
section (part TV) in place of the 180Technology™ mid
section (part TW).
Install the rubber hanger, shown by
Arrow A
in
Figure 6,
onto the rear portion of the mid section.
Once the exhaust is in place, secure the second hanger, as
shown by
Arrow B
in
Figure 6
.
For SwitchPath™ Edition installation, install the
included valve control motor from the SwitchPath™
Remote Kit onto the driver side rear section (part TX).
For the SwitchPath™ Edition exhaust rear sections, install
the driver side rear section (part TX) first.
For the Touring Edition exhaust, first install the passenger
180Technology™ rear section (part TS), shown in
Figure 7
.
Start by sliding either sections into the exhaust tip pocket
first, then use a 63.5mm (2.5
-
inch) AccuSeal clamp to
secure the inlet portion to the mid section pipe.
Install the remainder of the exhaust components.
