5. Installation
The Media Player has two network connections.
The "Media Input" connection is used for establishing connection to an FTP server. The connection can be
carried out locally or via the Internet.
The "Media Output" connection is intended for streaming of the multimedia contents. This connection can be
directly connected to a HoE 1-01 receiver or to a network containing playback devices.
Video playback (Plug & Play)
The Cloud Media Player and the receivers are pre-configured ex factory for a Plug & Play playback. The "Media
Output" connection is connected to the receiver using a commercially available network cable.
The monitor connected to the HoE 1-01 receiver displays the welcome video. If a different video file has been
stored on the USB stick, the Cloud Media Player will begin to play it.
Installation in networks with a switch
If the "Media Input" connection is operated via the same network switch as the "Media Output" connection
and the HoE 1-01 receivers, we recommend the use of a manageable network switch to separate the network
into several subnetworks (VLAN - Virtual Local Area Network).
Due to the bandwidth requirements of the video broadcast, the "Media Output" connection and the HoE 1-01
receivers must always be in a separate closed VLAN network. Configure the network switch accordingly.
Power supply connection
First, establish the network connections and check whether the supplied USB stick has been connected to
one of the two USB connections.
Then, connect the supplied wall power supply to the DC 5V jack.
After that, plug the wall power supply into the socket.
The Power LED of the HoE 1-03 will light up.
