Authentication Server

Make sure the StorPoint CD has been configured to use an authentication 
server, see page 79.

To specify permissions for the user names defined on the authentication server, 
follow these steps:

1. From the Administration Web pages, click 

Discs & Drives

.

2. Locate the volume you want to protect in the file tree. 

3. Click

 Access Rights

 . 

4. Open the 

Mac Sharing

 page.

5. You can select whether you want to use the access rights of the disc or the drive 

by checking the appropriate radio button. Note that this is a global setting for 
all network protocols.

6. Select the 

Share as 

radio button, and enter a share name in the 

Share Name

 

field.

7. Specify the name of the user you want to define as volume owner and the group 

to which the owner belongs. Note that the volume owner can only belong to 
one group. World includes all other users.

8. Check the permissions you want the users to have:

Read

Read files. 

Search 

- List files and folders.

Recommendation!

Use the same setting for Read and Search.
