Share-level
Access Control
Share-level access control is based on different passwords for each shared
resource. No verification with domain controllers will take place. This is
a good method to use in smaller “workgroup based” networks when
there is no domain controller.
Recommendation!
User-level access control is the preferred method to use in Windows NT
server based networks.
Wizard
The installation wizard is a convenient way to set up your StorPoint
NAS for your Windows (SMB) environment.
1. Start your Web browser, and enter the name or IP address of the
StorPoint NAS in the location/address field.
2. Click
admin
. You will be prompted for the Server password. By
default, this is set to
pass
. To change the Server password, see “

Network Settings
.
4. Click
Wizard
. The
Network Settings Wizard
dialog appears.
5. Choose
Windows (SMB)
. Click
Start
to proceed with the
installation.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen. When finished, click
Close
.
7. Click
Detailed View
.
The
Protocols
dialog box appears.
8. Select the
Windows (SMB)
tab and verify the settings.
9. Click
OK
.
