Problems Locating the Domain Controller in Windows (SMB)
If there is a problem locating the primary domain controller when using
user-level security mode in Windows (SMB), all users will be denied
access to the StorPoint NAS.
Web Browser
You can verify the configuration settings from the StorPoint NAS web
interface. Within the Administration Web pages, click Network
Settings, Detailed View, and open the Windows (SMB) tab to do that.
Local Administrator
Account
In Windows NT, you can correct the problem by logging on to the
StorPoint NAS as local administrator. Note that the local administrator
is not the same as an Administrator with an account on the domain.
In the Map Network Drive dialog, specify the following:
Example:
The host name of the StorPoint NAS is
hdserv
.
Note:
❏
In Windows 95, you cannot tell the SMB client to change domain
and user when you are already logged in. Therefore, you cannot use
the local administrator account to solve domain problems in the
Windows 95 environment.
