Memo
z
When you finish sewing, remove the bobbin
cover and then make sure that the thread is
shown as below. If the thread is not shown
as below, the thread is not inserted through
the tension-adjusting spring of the bobbin
case correctly. Reinsert the thread correctly.
For details, refer to page 29.
■
Upper thread is too loose
If the upper thread is visible from the wrong side of
the fabric, the upper thread is too loose.
Note
z
If the upper thread was incorrectly threaded,
the upper thread may be too loose. In this
case, refer to "Threading the upper thread"
(page 32) and rethread the upper thread.

e
The upper thread is visible from the wrong side of
the fabric.
Turn the thread tension dial to the right to tighten
the upper thread.
Memo
z
If the upper thread is not threaded correctly
or the bobbin is not installed correctly, it
may not be possible to set the correct thread
tension. If the correct thread tension cannot
be achieved, rethread the upper thread and
insert the bobbin correctly.
z
The level "4" on the tension dial is a guide
for working normal fabrics (medium weight).
However, the actual stitch tension you’ll
want to use will vary according to the fabric
and thread you are using, so you should
always sew a stitch sample and adjust stitch
tension before beginning on the actual piece
to be worked.
z
The machine may stop sewing if tension is
set extremely low. This is not a sign that
there is anything wrong with your machine.
Simply adjust to the correct stitch tension
and begin again.
