Securing Ends

the case, there are several options for securing a seam. (fig. A)

3 . L eav e a 3 - 4 inc h ( 7 . 5 - 1 0 c m ) t h read c h ain and us e a larg e- eye

4 . L oc k t h e b eg inning or end of a s eam b y s erg ing ov er t h e prev ious

To lock the beginning of the seam:
1 . M anually t urn t h e h and w h eel t ow ard you t ak ing 2 - 3 s t it c h es
int o t h e f ab ric . L eav e t h e need le( s ) in t h e low es t pos it ion t o
anc h or t h e f ab ric .
2 . R ais e t h e pres s er f oot .
3. Smooth out the thread chain with your fingers. (fig. B)

Let the blades cut off any remaining thread chain (fig. D-E).
