Beautiful stitches can be formed by serging with specialty threads, cords and ribbons. These heavier or

Some specialty threads work well through the needle and loopers.

Use the Specialty Thread chart on pages 52/53 as a guide keeping in mind that the threads can vary
f rom one m anuf ac t urer t o anot h er. I t is b es t t o s ew t es t f or b es t res ult s .
Note:
Thicker threads require longer stitch length.
Specialty thread used in the needle can be threaded in the usual way.

together, tie an overhand knot or square knot. (fig. B)

Note:

Medium weight threads,
inc lud ing t ops t it c h ing t h read , D ec or rayon and s t ret c h nylon t h read , are t oo
bulky to form a knot that would fit through the threading port, but they can slip through the hole with the
aid of a thread “cradle” made from regular serger thread (page 50).
