OO Scale DCC Train Set

Instruction Sheet

Thank you for purchasing this Bachmann Branchline train set, which we hope will provide endless hours of entertainment.
Your Bachmann set is designed to last for years, provided it is handled and used with reasonable care and the instructions
followed. Please retain these instructions for future reference.

Bachmann Train Sets are not suitable for children under 14 years because of small parts, which may present a choking
hazard. This product should be used under adult supervision. Some components have sharp edges. Handle with care.

The transformer is not a toy. Check that it is the correct voltage for your mains electrical supply. The transformer should be
examined regularly for damage to the casing, plug pins and cables. In the event of such damage, discontinue use and
replace. The train set must only be used with the recommended transformer as supplied.

The train set must not be connected to more than one of the recommended power supplies. The output terminals of the
transformer must not be connected directly, or indirectly, to the output of any other circuit derived from a transformer or
mains power supply. Disconnect the transformer from the mains when not in use.

Before cleaning any parts, disconnect the transformer from the mains electricity supply. Do not use liquid for cleaning.

Please refer to the cleaning and maintenance section of this leaflet.

Safety

Your Bachmann train set comes with a list of contents. Please check this to ensure you have all the parts you need before starting.

Decide where you want to lay the track. This should be a firm flat indoor surface or table top. A proper base board for the
track is the best solution. A base board can be constructed using 50mm x 25mm timber for a softwood frame, covered
with a suitable board. The track can be lightly pinned (using suitable track pins) to the baseboard. Do not lay track on the
carpet, because fibres may become trapped in the moving parts of the train.

Take great care when assembling the track sections. Incorrect joints will cause derailments and/or interruptions to the
electrical contact. All the track sections are fitted with push fit clips known as “fish plates”. It is best to assemble each
section on a firm level surface. Take care that the end of each rail each has engaged into the corresponding fish plate
when pushing sections together (Fig.1). If the joints between sections are not aligned double check that the fish plates
are correctly positioned (Fig.2).

Finally, check that all the track sections are secure, and that there are no distortions along the length of the track. Do this
by lightly running your fingers over the top surface of the rails (Fig.3).

Any problem with track connections can be corrected by carefully manipulating the join with a pair of small pliers to ensure
perfect alignment.

Train Set Assembly

NOTE :- If assembled track must be moved, care should be taken to avoid bending the track where sections connect. It
is always best to assemble the track where it is to be operated.
