The speed can be adjusted continuously,
depending on how far the ON / OFF switch
(3) is pressed in. A light pressure on the ON
/ OFF switch produces a low speed. The
speed increases with increasing pressure.
The pressed ON / OFF switch can be locked
by pressing in the locking device (2).

The speed can be continuously adjusted
using the adjusting handwheel (2) on the
handle; at maximum speed the handwheel
locks in position.

The speed can be continuously adjust-
ed using the adjusting handwheel (3) on
the motor housing; at maximum speed the
handwheel locks in position.
The pressed ON / OFF switch can be locked
by pressing in the locking device (5).

Set the speed (see technical specifications,
page 27) at the gear change knob (2).
NOTE
Changing gear while the machine is running can
cause damage to the drill.
Wait for the machine to completely stop.

Operation and Control
•
Switch on the PRCD switch; only for the
BSM 2868 – 110 V / 230 V high-speed mixer.
•
Immerse the stirrer in the material to be mixed.
•
Use the ON / OFF switch to start the motor:

•
In case of low-viscosity media, immerse the
stirrer completely and start.
f
Increase the speed if necessary.
•
In case of high-viscosity media, immerse the
stirrer by half and at an angle and start.
f
Select a low speed.
•
After ending the mixing process, pull the stirrer
out of the material to be mixed as the stirrer runs
down.

Cleaning

Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the high-speed mixer.
The machine must be cleaned after each work
session.

Carefully clean the machine and blow out with
compressed air.
•
Ensure handles are dry and free from grease.

Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the high-speed mixer.
The high-speed mixer must be serviced at least once
a year. Further, servicing will be necessary depend-
ing on the wear of the carbon brushes.
Only servicing and repair firms authorised by
Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH may carry out
maintenance of the machine. Also ensure that origi-
nal BAIER spare parts and original BAIER accesso-
ries only are used.

an environmentally friendly way in accord-
ance with the provisions applicable in your
