Appendix B
Control Watts Loss for Enclosure Sizing
All motor controls using power transistors to control voltage and current output to a motor generate
some heat. This heat is a normal part of switching the power devices "on" and "off". The amount of
heat generated by each must be taken into account when installing them in an enclosure. Table B.1
provides the watts loss for 230 VAC and 460 VAC model controls.
