Mobile RFID devices
2.1
Intended use
The mobile RFID devices are intended for the mobile
collection and transmission of data and for use in the
industrial sector. The battery and UHF write/read module
components are solely intended for use with the basic
devices and the charging and transmission box.
The LF plug-in module is intended exclusively for use with
the following products:
– BIS V-830-3-011-B-00_ (basic device of the series)
– BIS C-323/05-S4 (read/write head)
– BIS C-325/05-S4 (read/write head)
The LF/HF plug-in module is intended exclusively for use
with the following products:
– BIS V-830-3-011-B-00_ (basic device of the series)
– BIS VL-3_ _ series (read/write head)
– BIS VM-3_ _ series (read/write head)
Proper function according to the information in the
technical data is only guaranteed if the product is used
solely as described in the user’s guide and the associated
documents as well as in compliance with the technical
specifications and requirements and only with a suitable
original Balluff accessory.
Otherwise, it is deemed non-intended use. Non-intended
use is not permitted and will result in the loss of warranty
and liability claims against the manufacturer.
Country-specific WLAN restrictions

may be operated in indoor areas.
– In France WLAN operation in the outdoor area
(channels 8…13) at 2.454…2.4835 GHz is only
permitted with max. 10 mW.
Max. permissible transmission power
– WLAN 2.4 GHz band: max. 100 mW
– WLAN 5 GHz band: max. 200 mW
– BT-compatible near field communication:
max. 100 mW
– RFID: max. 42 dBμA/m at 10 m distance (magnetic
field strength)
Operation of the UHF write/read module with UHF
RFID frequency band depending on the region
The UHF write/read module is available in country-specific
versions with different frequency bands and may only be
operated in the specified regions:
– BIS V-830-3-011-B-000
UHF write/read module EU

General safety notes
Activities such as
installation
,
connection
and
startup
may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel
are persons whose technical
training, knowledge and experience as well as knowledge
of the relevant regulations allows him to assess the work
assigned to him, recognize possible hazards and take
appropriate safety measures.
The
operator
is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed.
In particular, the operator must take steps to ensure that a
defect in the product will not result in hazards to persons
or equipment.
The basic device and the charging and transmission box
may only be opened by trained specialists. The other
components (such as the battery) cannot be opened. If
defects and unresolvable faults occur in the product, take
it out of service.
This is a Class A device (EN55032). This device may cause
radio interference in the living area. In this case the
operator may be requested to implement appropriate
measures.
Only original Balluff power supply units as well as batteries
approved by Balluff may be used for the operation of the
basic devices and the charging and transmission box. The
use of unauthorized components may lead to the
destruction of the basic devices or the charging and
transmission box. Do not use components with an external
device.
Before use check the components (basic device, battery,
charging and transmission box, power supply unit,
modules) and any connection cables for damage.
Damaged parts must be replaced.
The components (basic device, battery, charging and
transmission box, power supply unit, modules) cannot be
set up in the vicinity of heat sources (such as fan heaters)
and exposed to direct sunlight, excessive dust sources or
vibrations. Observe ambient conditions (see
In order to avoid overheating, the basic device, battery,
modules, charging and transmission box, as well as the
power supply unit, cannot be covered during operation.
Before using the basic device or the respective
components in the vicinity of medical devices (e.g.
pacemaker), consult a doctor or the manufacturer of the
medical devices about the risks.
Excessive sound pressure from earphones, headphones or
headsets can cause hearing loss.
