NATURAL GAS IGNITION AND REGULATION
• Bleed out the air contained in the gas piping, with due precautions
and with doors and windows open.
• Open the combustion air regulator as necessary and open by
about one third the air passage between the head and the disk
(see adjustment servomotor drawing code 0002932130).
• Operate the regulators incorporated in the safety and operating
valve in such a way as to obtain the gas delivery presumed
necessary.
• Open the second stage thermostat to prevent its operation and
power up the burner switching the main switch on.
• The burner is therefore activated and carries out the pre-ventilation
phase.
• If the air pressure exceeds that value at which the air pressure
switch has been set, the ignition transformer will be connected and,
subsequently, the gas valves (safety and 1st flame) will be inserted.
• The valves open completely and the gas delivery is limited to
the position at which the flow regulator incorporated in the main
operating valve has been manually regulated.
• Upon first switching on, repeated “lock outs” may occur due to:
• The gas pipeline has not been adequately purged of air and
therefore the quantity of gas is not sufficient to allow for a stable
flame.
• The “lock out” with flame present may be caused by flame instability,
due to an incorrect air/gas ratio.
• This can be solved by changing the amount of air and/or gas
supplied, so as to find the right ratio.
• This problem could also be caused by an incorrect distribution of
air/gas in the combustion head.
• This can be solved through the combustion head adjustment
device, by closing or opening further the air passage between
the combustion head and the gas diffuser, using the flame disk
adjustment system.
• With the burner running, adjust delivery to the desired value for
“first flame by reading it on the meter.
• The flow rate can be changed using the regulator incorporated in
the valve, as described above.
• When the burner is lit, it is necessary to check as previously shown,
the gas flow and the combustion with the appropriate instruments.
When the results are known, if necessary proceed with varying the
gas delivery and relative combustion air in order to adapt delivery
to that required for the specific case (boiler potentiality). It’s also
necessary to check if the CO2 and CO values are adequate
(CO2max. = about 10% for methane gas and CO = 0.1%).
• After this adjustment, switch the burner off and on again a few
times to check if ignition is correct.
• With the burner turned off from the main switch, connect the second
flame thermostat directly.
• Open also the gas flow rate regulator integrated in the second
valve so as the necessary output for the main flame is enabled.
• Now close the main switch to start up the burner.
• When the burner is lit with the second flame, it is necessary to
check as previously shown, the gas flow and the combustion with
the appropriate instruments.
• On the basis of checks carried out, change, if necessary, the
gas delivery and the related combustion air in order to adjust the
delivery to the desired value according to specific case (boiler
power).
CONTROLS
After adjustment, always check that:
• The burner stops opening the thermostats and air and gas pressure
switches.
• Blocking”: shadow the photocell (UV).
To unlock, push the appropriate button.
