Maintenance and repair
IMPORTANT
Only allow repairs to be conducted by authorised skilled personnel !
Kindly inform us in writing of any malfunctions – use the enclosed questionnaire.
Important information
• Before each repair, turn off the device and disconnect the plug from the mains!
• Defective parts may only be replaced with original parts.
• First, ensure fi rm positioning between the ultrasonic transducer and the standard or booster
horn, as well as between the standard or booster horn and the probe ⇒ very often, the reason
for malfunctions is an inadequate mechanical coupling of these parts. In addition, follow the
detailed descriptions in chapters 4.3.1 to 4.4!
The black housing of the ultrasonic transducer and the aluminium cylinder (ultrasonic oscillating
system) must not be twisted toward each other. The ultrasonic oscillating system and its electrical
connections would be damaged as a result.
6.1
Maintenance
SONOPULS homogenisers are maintenance-free.
Aside from the process-dependent cavitation erosion on the sound-emitting surfaces of the
probes, no other homogeniser parts are subject to wear. Worn out or faulty probes can be
replaced following the instructions in chapters 4.3.1 to 4.4.
The devices are calibrated at the time of delivery. A control of the calibration is only required after
repairs, and will only be conducted by the manufacturer.

Functional checks
Important operating functions can be tested immediately:
Display test
Press the "+" and "-" keys at the same time. In all display segments, the
numerals 0 to 9 are displayed in ascending order for one second. Then, the
value that was last saved will appear.
Connection test
If the ultrasonic transducer is not connected, the power display will go out
after 1 second - the generator turns itself off. Before restarting the generator,
connect the transducer; then press the START/STOP key or the key. The set
program is retained and continues running after start-up.
