7.1   Safety

  

WARNING

WARNING!
Trapping hazard due to rotating grinding wheel
Long hair, loose clothing or jewellery may be trapped in

the rotating grinding wheel thus causing serious injuries.

• 

When working with the instrument always wear

   clothing that tears easily and never wear ties, bandan-

nas or scarves.

• 

Always remove jewellery when working with the

   instrument and tie long hair back.

Risk of injury due to rotating grinding wheel!
The rotating grinding wheel may cause grazes on the skin

and the lens may cause cuts and burns.

• 

All work must be done with extreme caution.

• 

All work must only be done by skilled personnel.

7.2   Grinding lenses

7.2.1    Check water collection container

  

NOTICE!

NOTICE!
Damage to property due to overflowing water!
Overflowing water may damage instruments near the

manual grinding wheel and cause damage to property.

• 

Check the water collection container regularly.

• 

For equipment with an overflow hose, the operator

   must check the attached hose.

1. Slightly lift the instrument (Fig. 12/1) with one hand.

2. Pull the water collection container (Fig. 12/2) out from under the instrument

 

with the other hand and check it. Empty the container if necessary.
