3.7 Settings
3.7.1 General
This menu configures the security of your Bandura Cyber TIG administrative accounts. These
parameters are intended to make your Bandura Cyber TIG more secure by changing passwords
frequently, encouraging hard to guess passwords, and timing out inactive administrative
sessions.
Command Rows Limits
is the maximum number of rows shown on the
View Commands
screen.
Lockout Time
is used in conjunction with Maximum Login Attempts. An intruder attempting to
guess an administrator password will quickly lock the account due to wrong guesses, and will
fail at logging in, even if the correct password is eventually guessed. An account will
automatically be unlocked after Lockout Time, or another administrator can manually unlock the
account before that time expires.
Maximum Login Attempts
is the number of failed login attempts before the account is
automatically locked. This mechanism is designed to prevent an intruder from attempting to
break into the Bandura Cyber TIG merely by guessing a large number of passwords. While an
account is temporarily locked, even the correct password will be rejected.
Maximum Password Duration
is the maximum number of days before a password change is
required. Passwords should be changed periodically to prevent intrusion.
