15 Product Support and Maintenance
15.1 Repairs
Contact Banner Engineering for troubleshooting of this device. Do not attempt any repairs to this Banner device; it contains
no field-replaceable parts or components. If the device, device part, or device component is determined to be defective by
a Banner Applications Engineer, they will advise you of Banner's RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) procedure.
Important: If instructed to return the device, pack it with care. Damage that occurs in return shipping is
not covered by warranty.
15.2 Maintenance
Maintenance tasks include keeping the hardware free of dust and dirt and updating the Barcode Manager software and
sensor firmware as new versions become available.
15.2.1 Clean the Reader
Dust, dirt, etc. on the lens cover may alter the reading performance.
Clean the lens cover periodically for continued correct operation of the reader.
Use soft material and alcohol to clean the lens cover and avoid any abrasive substances.
Repeat the operation frequently in particularly dirty environments.
15.2.2 Update the Software and Firmware
The current version of Barcode Manager software and the sensor firmware is available for download from

15.2.3 Update the Firmware
1. Make sure the device to be updated is selected and is shown in the status bar.
