MDMX-MNA

Mission critical applications

We strongly recommend there is a replacement monitor immediately available in mission critical applications.

Moisture condensation

•

Do not use the product under rapid temperature and humidity change condition or avoid cold air from air-
conditioning outlet directly.

•

Moisture may condense on the surface or inside of the unit, or create a mist residue inside the protection
plate, this is not a malfunction of the product itself, although it may cause damage to the product.

•

If condensation happens, leave the product powered off, until there is no condensation.

Malfunctions

Disconnect the equipment from the mains supply and refer servicing to qualified service technicians under the
following conditions:

•

If the equipment does not operate normally when the operating instructions are followed. Adjust only those
controls that are covered by the operating instructions since improper adjustment of other controls may
result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to
normal operation.

•

If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.

General warnings

•

The device has no means to be incorporated in an IT-network in the clinical environment.

•

The enclosure must be checked upon collision damage, refer to qualified service personnel.

•

The protective screen is made of tested high-resistance glass. Nonetheless there is the possibility that it
may crack if subject to strong impacts. Evaluate and prevent the risk of possible breakages of the
protective screen by correctly handling and positioning the product in the operating room.

•

The product is intended for indoor use

•

The product is not intended to be sterilized

•

The product has no applied parts, but the front side of the product and the steel enclosure have been
treated as applied part because considered accidentally touchable by the patient for a time <1 minute.

Handling the device

•

At end user application level it is necessary to foresee a backup unit in case there is no longer video input.

•

The MDMX-MNA must not be used for the diagnostic analysis of medical image data, the active monitoring
of a patient

’

s status or the primary transfer of data that will serve as a basis for the evaluation of a patient

’

s

condition. It is also unsuitable for use with data from which measures concerning the patient

’

s treatment

are derived.

•

The MDMX-MNA must not be used for the operation of any medical devices besides those provided and
installed by the manufacturer itself.

•

The MDMX-MNA can be used in conjunction with other imaging equipment and software, but only under
the premise that these are also exclusively intended for medical applications and comply with the
aforementioned restrictions of purpose.

•

After running continuously for an extended period of time, still images displayed on LCD monitors may
experience a memory-effect, whereby the image quality of the display is reduced.

•

Devices connected to the MDMX-MNA must be electrical safe and provide evidence of compliance with
IEC 60601-1.
Ensure that only I/O ports according to the intended use of this device are connected to the MDMX-MNA.
Do not connect devices with damaged or bypass isolation.

•

Check regularly that the visualization components of the MDMX-MNA are not damaged (e.g. scratches).
Do not operate the device if the display is damaged.

•

Do not allow to climb or rest on the equipment.

•

Barco is not liable for any damage or injury caused by mishandling or improper installation.
