Replace the vent plugs and reservoir fill cap.
Fill the oil reservoir. Give ample time for the oil to fill both gearboxes.
Position the machine on a level surface.
Ÿ
Shut off the master electrical disconnect before beginning any service procedure.
Make sure the engine has been shut down and a notice is posted that service work is being done
on the machine.
Place a tray underneath in which to collect the waste oil and unscrew the fill and drain plugs.
Reinstall fill and drain plugs
Ÿ
Wait a few minutes until all the oil has drained off
Repeat steps 3 & 4 on the other Gearbox.
To fill the GEARBOXES...
Ÿ
see Sec 1 LUBRICANTS for appropriate lubrication
Remove the fill cap on the oil reservoir and the vent plug on gearboxes to release air that was
trapped while draining.
If plugs are not removed while filling, the upper half of the gearboxes
could remain dry causing damage to the gearbox after start up.
2.3 Changing the Oil
Change the oil when the reduction gear is still hot as this makes it easier to
empty the oil completely, avoiding the formation of oil foots.
At operating
temperature, the engine, exhaust system components, cooling system components
and hydraulic system components are hot. Any contact with these items can cause
severe burns.
