MACHINE PRE-START UP
Read and understand all operational warnings in the safety section from
Chapter 10 of this manual before proceeding with operating this machine.
1 BEFORE STARTING MACHINE
1.1 Pre-Start Inspection and Service
Review and perform the inspections and service laid out in the
“Service &
Maintenance Schedule”
section earlier in this chapter.
1.2 Pre-Start Checklist
Know the machine's operating capabilities and limitations.
Do not exceed them.
Know your work environment.
Ÿ
Be aware of the inherent hazards where you will be operating this machine.
Ÿ
Know the hand signals used in the work area and who has the responsibility for
signaling.
OPEN Hydraulic Reservoir Shut-Off Valves
. Valves must be open before engine is started
or damage to pump may occur.
TURN ON the Master Electrical Disconnect (MED) Switch.
Adjust seat, mirrors and monitors to work safely and comfortably.
Avoid making these
adjustments while engine is running.
Go through the full movements of the Joysticks and Foot Pedals.
Make sure they do
not stick or there is no binding. If these conditions exist, the machine MUST be taken out of
service until repairs are made.
On BARKO ML machines, DISENGAGE Servo Controls.

switch(s) or lever(s) that activates or deactivates the servo control system.
TURN OFF the Control Power Switch.

Ensure all other system switches are in the proper position.
