My B&N Library
Your
NOOK
stores the information it needs to open DRM-secured digital content that you purchase
from the Shop on your
NOOK
or on the BN.com website. Just open an eBook or periodical you
have bought, and it opens.
If you unregister your
NOOK
, the information needed to open DRM-secured content is deleted. To
open the content on an unregistered
NOOK
, you will need to enter your first name, last name, and
default credit card number one time. You enter the first name, last name, and default credit card
number that were in use when you
downloaded
the content.
If you downloaded the content at times when your Barnes & Noble online account had different
default credit cards, you will need to enter each credit card one time. For example, if you
downloaded 10 eBooks last year with a credit card ending in 1111, and another 10 eBooks this year
with a credit card ending in 2222, then when you open one of the eBooks from last year, you will
need to enter the credit card ending in 1111, and when you open one of the eBooks from this year,
you will need to enter the credit card ending in 2222. After that, you can open all of the eBooks.
Take the same precautions you normally would with your credit card number.
My Documents
For DRM-secured content in My Documents, including content that you have transferred to your
NOOK
from your personal computer and that you have copied from My B&N Library, you must
enter your first name, last name, and default credit card number. Enter the information that is
current for your Barnes & Noble online account. Take the same precautions you normally would
with your credit card number.
You only need to enter this information the first time you open one item of digital content that was
purchased with that credit card.
Opening Password-Secured PDF Files
When you open a PDF file that is secured with a password, the Reader prompts you for the
