Viewing and Sorting the Contents of Your Library
Your Library allows you to view and sort your books and periodicals in different ways.
You can arrange items in a grid, in horizontal shelves running across the screen, or in various types of lists.
You can also sort items by title and by date of publication.
Two pull-down menus at the top of the Library screen give control over the presentation of your Library.
Sorting and Viewing Books
You can sort books by:
• Most Recent
• Title
• Author
You can view books in these arrangements:
• a grid
• a list, which includes titles and author names
Sorting and Viewing Your Newsstand (Magazines and Newspapers)
You can sort magazines and newspapers in your Newsstand by:
• Most Recent
• Title
You can view magazines in these arrangements:
• a grid
• a list, which includes titles, publisher names, and publication dates
Opening Books, Magazines, and Newspapers
You can tap on any cover you see to open it.
If you tap on a book with a Download banner, your NOOK begins downloading the book. A progress bar on the
book’s cover indicates how much of the book has been downloaded. Once the book has fully downloaded, you can
open it.
NOTE: When you buy a book or periodical, it becomes available to your NOOK, as well as to any Barnes &
Noble eReader applications installed on your smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.
Badges on Content
Your NOOK displays the following badges on books and periodicals:
• New:
This is a new item that has been downloaded to your NOOK and is now ready for reading.
• Sample:
This is a free sample of a book, magazine, or newspaper.
• Download:
Tap on this book or periodical to download it from your Barnes & Noble Lifetime Library
