Motor Housing
Inspecting the Motor Housing
Wear of bearings due to frequent usage and
damage to bearings etc. caused by moisture
entry may prevent smooth rotation of the
shaft.
Inspect and replace parts such as the oil seal,
bearing, and housing.
Make sure that the housing does not have
any chap or crack.
Make sure that there is no wear or damage
of the oil seal.
Make sure that there is no wear or rust of
the bearing.
Make sure that there is no play in the fit of
the shaft and the bearing.
Remove the motor housing. (See
"Removing the Rotary Shaft" (Page 7-19) .)
Remove the stop ring.
Place the motor housing on a vise or the
like, tap from the direction indicated by the
arrow, and remove the oil seal and bearing.

Important
Be sure to replace the bearing and oil seal
with new ones.

Apply a profuse amount of grease to the lip
of the oil seal.

For installation, reverse the removing
procedure.
Note:
Use a bearing driver to drive in the oil seal
and bearing.
