Procedure to Start Engine
Caution
Do not start the engine in a building with
insufficient ventilation.
Caution
Before starting the engine, make sure that
there are no other people or obstacles around
the machine.

Caution
Make sure that the covers are correctly in
place and are not damaged.
Important
Starter operation must take 15 seconds or
less. If the engine does not start, stop using
the battery for 30 to 60 seconds to avoid
exhausting the battery.
Open the fuel cock.
This is near the fuel tank.
Sit on the seat.
Make sure that the parking brake is applied.
Make sure that the traveling pedal is in
neutral position.
Move the throttle lever to the middle
position between "High" and "Low".
Pull the choke knob.
Pull the choke knob half way for restarting,
as necessary.
Switch the ignition key to the "START"
position.
Important
Quickly returning the ignition key from the
"START" position to the "ON" position may
result in damage to the machine.
When the starter starts rotating and the
engine starts, slowly return the ignition key
to the "ON" position.
Check that the engine has started, and then
return the choke knob to its original
position.
Shift the throttle lever to "Low", and then
warm up the engine for 1-2 minutes.
Gradually move the throttle lever to "High".
Procedure to Stop Engine
Raise the rake section.
Raise the attachment if any installed.
Set the traveling pedal in neutral position.
Apply the parking brake.
Move the throttle lever to "Low", and
continue idling for 1-2 minutes.
Switch the ignition key to the "OFF"
position.
Make sure that the engine has stopped.
