nection conditions that follow from them (classical earthing, protective earthing,

and install it yourself, but ask a qualified technician.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed for
safety and approval reasons. Never open/dismantle it (apart from the procedures
for installation and connection described in the manual)! It does not contain any
internal parts that need to be adjusted or maintained by you.
• Maintenance, adjustment or repair work may only be carried out by an expert/
authorised service centre, which is familiar with the hazards involved and the rel-
evant regulations.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children! There
is danger of a life-threatening electric shock! Install the product out of the reach
of children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations,
high humidity, moisture, combustible gases, vapours and solvents.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers‘ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed!
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly as it may be a danger
to children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows or falls even
from a low height.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a trained technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or
a specialist workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Installation/connection
• The thermostat is designed according to protection class I; the protective earth
conductor must be connected. If a power supply cable with protective earth con-
ductor is not available at the installation location, you must lay a new power supply
cable. Failure to observe this poses a danger to life from electric shock if a mistake
is made!
• During installation, all poles must be disconnected from the mains voltage, e.g.,
via RCD. Between the RCD and the product, there must be an appropriately di-
mensioned fuse or circuit breaker (max. 16 A).
• The device must be voltage-free during installation and connection. Furthermore,
turn off the automatic circuit breaker and the earth leakage circuit breaker to dis-
connect all the poles from the mains voltage.
Secure it against unauthorised reconnection, e.g., with a warning sign.
• Check to make sure there is no voltage with a suitable measuring instrument (e.g.,
a digital multimeter).
• Do not connect the product to the power supply immediately after it has been
transferred from a cold room into a warm one (e.g., during transport). The conden-
sation that forms might destroy the device. Moreover, there is danger of electric
shock!
• Allow the product to reach room temperature. Wait until the condensation has
evaporated. This might take several hours. Only after this, should it be installed,
connected to the mains supply and put into use.
• Do not use the thermostat in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a danger of
explosion!
• The input power of the thermostat (see chapter „Technical data“) must not be
exceeded.
• During installation, make sure that the capillary tube and the sensor are not bent,
squeezed or damaged otherwise.
• The capillary tube and also the sensor cannot and may not be shortened or cut
off. Do not turn any screws or anything similar through the sensor tip. Doing so
renders the thermostat unusable!
Operating instructions
Pipe system thermostat 0 - 90 °C
Item no. 1465105
Intended use
The thermostat is intended for controlling the temperature in connection with radiators within a
temperature range of 0 ºC to +90 ºC. It can also be used as a temperature sensor to activate
a downstream alarm system in the event of a heating failure. Due to its special construction, it
can be attached directly to a water pipe of a central heating system.
The thermostat is only intended for use in dry, closed interiors, it must not get damp or wet.
For safety and approval reasons, you may not convert and/or alter the product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. Moreo-
ver, the improper use involves risks such as short-circuits, fire, electric shocks, etc. Please read
the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass the product on to a third
party, please hand over these operating instructions as well.

Explanation of symbols
The lightning symbol inside a triangle is intended to alert you of health hazards, e. g.,
risk of electrical shock.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in this operating
manual which absolutely have to be observed.
The arrow symbol is used when specific tips and information on handling are pro-
vided.
The product is only intended to be installed and used in dry indoor rooms; it must not
get damp or wet.
Observe the operating instructions!
Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention to
the safety instructions. We do not assume liability for injuries/material damag-
es resulting from failure to observe the safety instructions and the information
in these operating instructions regarding the proper handling of the product.
Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/guarantee will be null and void.
Attention, important note!
Only people with relevant electro-technical knowledge and experience should
carry out the installation! *)
If it is installed improperly, you risk:
• your own life
• the life of the user of the electrical system.
