• Check to make sure there is no voltage with a suitable measuring
instrument (e.g., a digital multimeter).
• Never connect the product to the power supply immediately after
it has been transferred from a cold room into a warm one (e.g.,
during transport). The condensation that forms might destroy the
device. Moreover, there is danger of electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature. Wait until the con-
densation has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only
after this, should it be installed, connected to the mains supply
and put into use.
• Do not use the product in rooms with adverse environmental con-
ditions, where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be
present! There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not exceed the max. connection load / switching capacity (see
the chapter “Technical data”).
c) Batteries/rechargeable batteries
• In general, it is possible to operate the room thermostat with
rechargeable batteries. However, due to the lower voltage of
rechargeable batteries (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery =
1.5 V) and the lower capacity there is a shorter operating time.
We recommend that you use preferably high-quality alkaline bat-
teries in order to allow for long-lasting and reliable operation.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach
of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they
could be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a
doctor immediately. Danger to life!
• Acid contact due to leaking or damaged single/rechargeable bat-
teries can burn your skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
