Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or subjected to mechanical
stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or cold. Do not attempt to
modify the mains cable, as this may cause permanent damage. Damaged mains cables can cause a fatal
electric shock.
•
Do not touch the mains cable if there are any signs of damage. Power down the respective mains socket (e.g.
via the respective circuit breaker), and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Never use
the product if the mains cable is damaged.
•
Damaged mains cables must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized repair centre or a qualified
electrician.
•
Never insert or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
c) Product
•
This device was constructed according to protection class II. The product must only be powered by a standard
mains socket connected to the public grid.
•
Before connecting the product to the mains, check that your household mains voltage meets the specifications
on the product name place.
•
Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The
condensation generated may destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before
connecting it and putting it to use. This may take several hours.
•
Never touch the product when your hands are wet or damp, as this may cause an electric shock.
•
Do not immerse the product in water.
•
Never use the product without the soldering tips.
d) Soldering
•
Do not use the soldering gun to solder live components.
•
Always ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. Soldering and flux vapours can be harmful to your health.
•
Always wear suitable protective clothing and safety goggles.
•
Only solder on non-flammable surfaces. Ensure that there are no materials that may be damaged by the heat
generated from the soldering gun.
•
Do not solder near to flammable materials or in rooms containing explosive substances.
Operation
a) Attaching/replacing the soldering tips
•
Allow the soldering gun and tips to cool down completely.
•
Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws on the soldering tip socket, and then remove the soldering tip.
•
Insert a new soldering tip and screw it into place.
b) Soldering
Never touch a hot soldering tip.
Burn hazard!
Observe the working intervals (
max. 12 secs on
, and then
min. 48 secs off).
•
Ensure that the soldering contacts on the workpiece are clean.
•
Connect the soldering gun to the mains.
• Press the trigger to heat the soldering gun. The solder joint indicator turns on to indicate that the soldering gun is heating.
-
Wait 12 secs for the soldering gun to heat up.
•
Apply solder to the heated soldering tip.
•
Heat the soldering point and apply solder.
•
Allow the soldering point to cool down.
•
Clean the hot soldering tip with a wet sponge.
-
Do not file the soldering tip, as this may cause permanent damage.
•
When you have finished soldering, release the trigger on the soldering gun.
•
After use, remove the mains plug from the mains socket and allow the soldering gun to cool down.
Care and cleaning
•
Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.
•
Allow the product to cool down to room temperature before cleaning or servicing.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the casing or cause
the product to malfunction.
•
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
a)
Replacing the solder joint indicator
• Remove the defective light from the socket.
•
Replace it with a new light of the same type.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste. Always dispose of the product
according to the relevant statutory regulations.
