10. Operation
a) Basic settings
• First insert the batteries into the outdoor sensor.
• Insert the batteries in the weather station within 30 minutes of powering up the outdoor
sensor.
• Once all the batteries are inserted, all display segments will appear briefly on the display.
Then the time (0:00) and a weather icon appear.
If the display shows nothing within 60 seconds, remove the batteries. Insert the batteries
again after 10 seconds.
• After inserting the batteries, the weather station begins to receive data from the outdoor
sensor. The display shows the outdoor temperature and the reception icon.
If the outdoor temperature does not appear after 3 minutes, remove the batteries from both
devices and begin the process again.
The maximum range is 100 m in the open.
• As soon as the display shows the outdoor temperature, the weather station automatically
starts searching for the DCF signal. Normally, it takes about 3 - 5 minutes until the signal
is received.
The weather station searches for the DCF signal daily at 2:00 am and 3:00 am. If the
reception is not successful at 3:00 am, the weather station will try again at 4:00 am, 5:00 am
and 6:00 am until reception is successful.
If the reception is not successful at 6:00 am, the weather station will try again the following
day at 2:00 am.
If reception is successful, the received signal overwrites the manually set time.
b) Inserting/changing the batteries
If you replace the batteries in one of the devices, the basic settings for both devices
need to be made again.
This is necessary as the outdoor sensor transmits a random security code to the
weather station with each start-up. This code must be received and saved within the
first three minutes.
