6.5 Injection Pumps
1.
Each month, have a STERIS or STERIS-trained service
technician lubricate section(s) of squeeze tube in contact with
pump(s), using silicone lubricant (P117950-599).
2.
Each month, verify squeeze tube(s) for any leaks or signs of
wear. If necessary, replace tube as follows:
IMPORTANT:
To prevent mixing squeeze tube connections,
verify and remove squeeze tube and pickup tube for only one
injection pump at a time.
a.
On load side of washer, turn
LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT
key
selector to
LOCK
position. Remove key from selector and
keep on yourself. Display shows:
WASHER LOCKED
b. Remove clamps and disconnect squeeze tube ends from
pickup tube and feed lines.
c.
Remove screws attaching injection pump faceplate to
injection pump head. Lift faceplate away from pump head.
d. To remove squeeze tube from pump head, pull out tube by
one end. Discard tube.
e.
Clean all pump surfaces.
f.
Insert one end of new tube into pump head and rotate roller
block manually.
g. Liberally spread silicone lubricant (P117950-599) over rollers
in roller block and all tubing surfaces in contact with pump
head.
h.
Return faceplate to pump head and fasten with screws
previously removed.
i.
Connect ends of tube to pickup tube and feed lines. Attach
clamps to both lines.
j.
Using key, turn
LOCK/UNLOCK/INIT
key selector to
UNLOCK
position. Display shows Mode Selection screen.
k.
In Mode Selection screen, press
AUTOMATIC
touch pad.
l.
Cycle Selection menu appears.
m. Initiate a cycle to verify squeeze tube operation. Verify
correct chemical is injected during each cycle treatment
(refer to
Table 5-1
,
Cycle Description Chart
).
