tool Set up

tO prEVEnt SEriOuS inJury FrOM acciDEntaL OpEratiOn: 

Make sure that the trigger is in the off-position and remove its Battery 

pack before performing any procedure in this section.

Battery charging

Charge battery after unpacking and before using this 

tool.  Follow instructions included with battery charger.

Drill Bit installation

cautiOn!

  Wear heavy-duty work gloves 

to provide protection when inserting and 

removing drill bits. Drill bits become very hot during 

use. Do not remove drill bit until the bit has cooled.

cautiOn!

  Remove the Battery Pack 

before changing the drill or screw bit to 

avoid unintentional starting of the tool.

1.  This drill has a keyless Chuck so no key 

is needed to lock the tool bit in place.

2.  Only use bits that can be securely fastened in the 

Chuck and are designed for the workpiece type.

3.  Place bit in the drill, inside the Chuck’s jaws:

a.  Open the jaws of the Chuck by holding 

the lower ring of the Chuck and turning 

the Locking Ring counterclockwise.

b.  Open the Chuck jaws until the 

bit inserts all the way in.

c.  Hold the lower ring and turn the Locking 

Ring clockwise to firmly tighten.

d.  Make sure the bit is straight and 

centered between the Chuck’s jaws.

nOticE: use sharp bits.  Dull, bent, or 

damaged bits may cause binding and 

put stress on the drill and/or bit.
