Switching on the appliance and setting the thermostat
You switch on your appliance by connecting it to your mains supply
and setting the thermostat. The thermostat dials are located on the
control panel, which can be found at the top of the fridge freezer.
o
The thermostat automatically regulates the temperature inside
the fridge freezer, depending on which setting you have turned
the thermostat control dials to.
o
You should turn the fridge and freezer thermostat dials
clockwise.
o
If the arrow is positioned to the smaller dots, then you will get a
higher temperature inside the fridge or freezer section.
o
If the arrow is positioned to the larger dots, then you will get a
lower temperature inside the fridge or freezer section.
o
Ideally the arrow should be set to the midway
position (as shown in the diagram opposite).
o
Your refrigerator can maintain a temperature of between 4 – 6
degrees centigrade.
o
The freezer section can cool down to -18 degrees centigrade and
lower.
o
IMPORTANT: The ambient temperature of the room,
the temperature of food and the amount of food that
has been placed in the appliance and how often the door
is opened, will all affect the temperature being
maintained by the appliance.
o
If the thermostat dials are set to a higher setting
(shown opposite), your fridge and freezer sections
will work harder to maintain a lower temperature.
There is no need to run your appliance on the higher
settings and the dials should be set in the position
shown above.
o
IMPORTANT: If you run the appliance with the thermostat dials
on a higher setting for prolonged periods, the defrost drain hole
will freeze. It may also cause the appliance to overwork and the
fridge and freezer sections to freeze over.
