System overview
6.1.1
System with gateway
If your heating appliance does not have the R-bus protocol, you need a
gateway to connect the thermostat to the appliance. The gateway offers
three communication protocols:
On/off protocol
OpenTherm protocol
BSB protocol
The communication protocol depends on the requirements of the
appliance. Consult your installer for technical details about your appliance
and information how to connect the uSense to the appliance. You can
connect the thermostat and the gateway yourself, or ask your installer.

Preparation
You must check which gateway is needed for the communication between
the uSense and your appliance.
1. Check the documentation to know which communication protocol is
used for the control of your appliance:
