Installation
Once the radiator has been attached to the wall,
as shown in the instructions supplied with the
mounts, install the resistance either combined with
or separate from the heating installation.

Description of electric heater
element
Electric heater element, protected by a Ø 16mm
double stainless steel case, fitted with an elec-
tronic microcontroller, with connecting cable 1,2 m
long and 1 mm² cross-section.
Operation
The appliance has two buttons and a knob, as
shown in figure 2. To turn the appliance ON/OFF
press button 3: when Regulator is ON, the LED
is red when the element is powered and green
when no power is applied. There are 3 operat-
ing modes: normal mode, forced march (to dry
clothes), antifreeze mode.
Normal Mode
This operating mode is use to heat the ambient
temperature.
1. Press button 3 to power the appliance
2. Turn knob 1 to the desired temperature. As
illustrated on the scale (See figure 3). The
temperature ranges between 7°C to 30°C;
number 1 correspond to about 7°C setting up
to the end of the regulation scale, at the very
end of the scale there is the temperature bulb
symbol for (100% max power), at this point it is
possible to maintain the maximum temperature
continuously.
The scale of the knob 1 isn’t linear, it’s an ex-
panded scale. Use this scale to set the desirable
temperature.
Forced March Mode
Select this operating mode to power on the radia-
tor continually for two hours: select this mode if
you want to dry clothes.
1. Press button 2 : the led will start blinking
slowly.
2. The system goes to heating mode for two
hours, you may interrupt the cycle at any time
by pushing button 2 again.
Antifreeze Mode
Select this operating mode to maintain ambient
temperature of above 7°C.
1. Press button 3 to power on the appliance.
2. To activate the antifreeze function, turn the
potentiometer 1 counter - clockwise to minimum
position. The LED remains green when no
power is supplied to the heater, but charges to
red when the heater is powered.

Ensure that the model of electric heater element
to be fitted on the existing radiator coincides with
that shown in the table on page 5.
The resistance must be attached to the bottom,
on either the right or left.
Electrical version
• The heater must not be located immediately
below a socket outlet or switch.
• Don’t mount the radiator with the control box
touching the floor or the wall.
• The electronic thermostat should be connected
only to 230 V AC 50Hz. Respect the conven-
tional colours:
Brown - Line Wire
Blue or grey - Neutral Wire
• An all-pole disconnection from the supply
is required, incorporated in the fixed wiring.
Switches intended to ensure all-pole discon-
nection must be directly connected with the
supply terminals and must have a contacts
distance of at least 3 mm in each pole.
• Protect the electrical line with a high sensitivity
differential device.
• The electronic thermostat is protected from
water contact. In the bathroom it may be
mounted in the zone 3 (see figure 5):making it
impossible to be touched by person using the
bath or shower.
• The electrical cable is meant to be connected
to electrical system through a connection box
without an electrical plug. The connection box
or socket-outlet must be at least 25 cm from
the floor.
Installation of Regulator to Quick Connect
(Fig 6).
1. Be sure that the O-RING of the heater’s connec-
tion is the correct position and it isn’t damaged
(otherwise replace it).
2. Before inserting the plug in the resistance,
bring the index A of the ring above the open
padlock symbol B
3. Insert the plug into the heating element with
moderate pressure, if necessary line up the
contacts rotating to control.
4. Line up the control with the towel heater.
5. Insert the control until edge A of the heater is
against the higher part B of the thermostat.
6. Rotate the ring in clockwise direction, until
the index A arrives above the closed padlock
symbol B; you should hear a «click» .
Note: The air vent should be replaced with a suit-
able safety valve. (Fig 7).
Combined version
Radiators SY 50 INOX SATIN FINISH,
CL 50, CL 50 CR, CL 60,CL 60 CR, DO 50,
EL 50, EL 50 INOX and HO 45 (Fig. 8)
In the combined version, the 1/2” -1/2” -1/2” Tee (9)
should be fitted for the hydraulic connection.
Screw the union adaptor (1/2”) to the Tee (9) and
push the heater element assembly fully home
(Fig. 6).
In single-pipe systems, the Tee (9) should be omit-
ted altogether, with the heater element screwed
directly to the radiator. To screw the union on
the 1/2” MONOTUBO NT vertical valve in the
opposite side.
Note: The air vent should not be replaced with a
safety valve.
Filling
Fill the radiator with water.
For filling up radiators with electric heater ele-
ment only (electric version), provision for an
air space of no less than 2% of the total water
content of the radiator should be made to allow
for water expansion.
Note: Never close the valves of cut of the ra-
diador.
In combined systems, always leave a way open
between the radiator and the rest of the system
(do not shut the lock-shield valve).
Warnings:
Do not turn the electric heater element on un-
less it is fully immersed in water. The control
box must be handled with care. Any attempt to
open it or dry running of the electric heater ele-
ment renders the guarantee null and void.
- Switch off the mains before
any installation, de-installation or
maintenance operation on the ther-
mostat.
- Don’t cut the power supply cable to switch the
apparatus off.
- If the led fast blinks red, there is a temperature
sensor fault: please contact the manufacturer.
- The nominal voltage of the thermostat must be
the same one of the network.
- Avoid any contact with chemical products or
alcohol including the liquid inside the radiator.
- Installation must comply to all national safety
regulations and laws in force in the country
where the product is installed.
