One or both sides of the dryer have been set as failed due to bad dew point. Taking into account the
precautions of chapter maintenance warning, press the Reset button in the Dryer Overview screen.
8.
Dryer pressure fault alarm
One or both sides of the dryer have been set as failed due to a failure of dryer outlet pressure (too low or
too high). Taking into account the precautions of section Maintenance warning, press the Reset button in
the Dryer Overview screen.
9.
Sensor error:
A problem with the dryer sensors, cables, or connections has occurred or the pressure or dew point are
out of range.
Taking into account the precautions of section Maintenance warnings, check the sensors, cables and the
connections for proper connection and correct wiring according the service diagram. The fault should be
physically remedied (spare parts can be ordered, consult the spare part list), whereby the alarm will
automatically reset. If however the pressure is believed to be out of range, this error will reset automatically
once the pressure is in range again.
3.3.3
Plant emergency
Description
The dryer inlet pressure, measured before the inlet filters exceeds the limit (too high or too low) or the dew
point of the active dryer, measured at the outlet is too high (above -46 °C).
Evidently, this situation must be attended to as soon as possible.
Causes and remedies
1. The flow demand at the inlet cannot be sustained. Possible causes:
• The plant is not properly sized to meet the flow demand.
Conduct a flow test and consult BeaconMedæs.
• A ball valve is not in the correct position. Check all valve positions.
• One or more compressors of the plant are not performing to their full capacity. Check that maintenance
is carried out as required according to section Maintenance and that the drawn current on the amp meter
corresponds to the values found in section Fuse values in the compressor manual and as written in the
logbook during commissioning.
• A leak or rupture is present in the piping, hoses, vessels, filters... Investigate the plant for leaks. When
a leak or rupture is found in a section which can be isolated from the main flow, remedy the problem
after isolating the section (for spare parts, consult the spare part list).
When the leak or rupture is situated in the main flow pipeline of the plant and cannot be isolated, please
contact BeaconMedæs.
• The piping, hoses or outlets of the compressors are blocked. When a blockage is found in a section
which can be isolated from the main flow, remedy the problem after isolating the section. For spare
parts, consult the spare part list.
When the blockage is situated in the main flow pipeline of the plant and cannot be isolated, please
contact BeaconMedæs.
2. The flow dew point at the outlet is not at an acceptable level. Possible causes:
• A ball valve is not in the correct position. Check all valve positions.
• A leak or rupture is present in the connecting tube. Isolate the connection to the dew point sensor and
remedy the problem (for spare parts, consult the spare part list).
• The needle valve is not in the correct position, not allowing flow over the dew point sensor.
Check the outlet flow at the metal tube and adjust if insufficient (contact BeaconMedæs for correct
settings).
• The desiccant is not in proper condition any more. Either it has been used beyond its lifetime, a problem
has occurred with the solenoids or too much water has entered the dryer.
