Area Alarm Module
Tools required:
Phillips head screwdriver
5/32" hex wrench
Removal
CAUTION:
If you are replacing an Area Alarm Module in an Area Alarm that uses the
Network Communications Board and the Ethernet, use the
Clear
Network
function before you start the procedure. Otherwise, the MedPlus
TotalAlert® Alarm Network will indicate that an error has occurred.
CAUTION:
If you are replacing an Area Alarm Module in a 30-Point Master Alarm
with three Area Alarm Modules, use the
Clear Network
function before
you start the procedure. Otherwise, the MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm
Network will indicate that an error has occurred.
1. If the Area Alarm Module that you are replacing is in an Area Alarm that is
connected to the facility’s Ethernet, or in a 30-Point Master Alarm with three
Area Alarm Modules; use the
Clear Network
function before you begin this
procedure (see “Clear Alarm Network Device List” on page 1–95). Otherwise
the MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm Network displays the error “Connection Lost
with Device…,” because it is searching for the replaced module instead of the
new one.
2. Using a 5/32" hex wrench, unlock the front panel (A) (see figure 4-10 on
page 4–27).
