MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm Network Operation and Maintenance Manual (205728)
Local-Mount Transducer and DISS Demand Flow Valve Assembly for Conversion Kits (excluding the
conversion kit housed in an Area Line Pressure Alarm (0321) rough-in box)
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures
2. To prevent gas leaks, wrap Teflon® tape two times around the pipe threads
on the DISS demand flow valve (F).
3. Thread the DISS demand flow valve (F) into the female fitting (G) in the
rough-in box (H).
CAUTION:
Do not overtighten diameter index safety system (DISS) fittings.
Equipment damage or inadequate flow could occur.
4. Tighten the DISS demand flow valve (F) until you feel resistance, then turn
the DISS demand flow valve (F) two more full turns.
5. Install the DISS nut (I) securing the transducer (E) to the DISS demand flow
valve (F).
6. Being careful not to damage the DISS fittings, securely tighten the DISS nut
(I).
7. Connect the green wire (or shield wire) (A) to the appropriate position on the
terminal block (D) inside the transducer (E).
8. Connect the red and black wires (B) to the terminal block (D).
NOTE:
Polarity does not need to be observed for the red and black wires.
9. Tighten the screws (C) securing the wires (A and B) to the terminal
block (D).
10. Turn on the incoming source power to the alarm.
11. Check for gas leaks.
12. If there are gas leaks, repeat step 2 through step 6 until no gas leaks occur.
13. To ensure proper operation, perform the “Function Checks” on page 2–5.
