Building Automation System (N2) Mapping
NOTE:
The information in this section is intended to be used by Information Systems
personnel.
The MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm Network has the option of connecting to a facil-
ity’s building automation system (BAS). The BAS accesses the 30 source alarm
points and summary information in the Master Alarm using an N2 open protocol
in the Metasys® Building Management System software. The N2 address is pro-
grammed into the alarm system using the alarm’s front panel or the its device
information web page.
The state of each of the 30 source inputs is available using binary input points
BI1 through BI30. Binary input point
BI31
is
true
if there are any active alarms.
For efficient single point monitoring, the best choice is to enroll BI31 in the BAS
polling table.
NOTE:
Change of state (COS) is supported by the software.
The status of each of the 30 source alarm inputs is available using byte points
BYT1 through BYT30. The status of each alarm input returns as follows:
•
0 = no alarm
•
1 = active alarm
•
2 = silenced alarm
