A summary of information is available using integer data points ADI1 through
ADI5.
•
ADI1 = device serial number, low 2 bytes
•
ADI2 = device serial number, high 2 bytes
•
ADI3 = device firmware version
•
ADI4 = number of source alarms wired to this Master Alarm
•
ADI5 = number of remote Area Alarm Modules throughout the entire
MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm Network system
If the Area Alarm is set up to communicate on the ethernet network, the number
of remote Area Alarm Modules actively alarming is available using integer point
5 (ADI5). Since the Ethernet network is not statically configured, these modules
cannot map directly to binary input (BI) points. A summary of the total number
of remote Area Alarm Modules is all that is available.
NOTE:
For the Area Alarm to communicate on the ethernet network, it must have the
Network Communications Board installed and properly connected.
The following are two examples of information that could be gathered by using
the MetaSys® Building Management System in conjunction with the MedPlus
TotalAlert® Alarm Network system:
1. A "
backup vacuum pump on
" switch for vacuum system number 1 is physi-
cally wired to position number 5 on the Master Alarm Breakout P.C. Board.
•
When the contact on the vacuum pump opens,
BI31
will be true indicat-
ing the existence of an alarm, BI5 will be true indicating source alarm
number 5 is active, and BYT5 will equal 1 indicating source alarm num-
ber 5 is active, but not silenced.
•
Also, ADI4 changes from 0 to 1 indicating there is a total of 1 active
alarm connected to this Master Alarm.
2. If there are three oxygen Area Alarm Modules and three vacuum Area Alarm
Modules connected to the alarm network, ADI5 equals six. If there are no
Area Alarm Modules connected to the alarm network, ADI5 equals zero.
